  27. Take a look at the following exerpt from my tinrc file:

  30. # if ON show group description text after newsgroup name at
  31. # group selection level
  32. show_description=OFF
  33. ...

  35. If you set this option to ON, then tin has to read in the newsgroups file
  36. from the news server in order to get the news description. And this may
  37. take a while...

  39. So I suggest to set this option to OFF, since most of you will probably
  40. already know what the newsgroups are for ! ;-)
